Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a cable of congratulations from His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa on McLaren's victory in the Formula 1 Constructors' Championship and Lando Norris' win in the World Drivers' Championship. This marks McLaren's first double championship in 27 years.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with HE Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and HE Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting included discussions with deputies and members of the Public Utilities and Environment Committees. His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of serving Bahrain's citizens and meeting their needs as a core component of the Kingdom's comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted Team Bahrain's achievements and their role in motivating continued efforts to advance the Kingdom's development. He stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the Legislative and Executive Branches to support national programmes and initiatives. His Royal Highness also underscored the need to continue developing the Kingdom's legislative framework to meet the aspirations of Bahrain's citizens.
The outcomes of the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, chaired by His Majesty the King, were affirmed by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad as pivotal in strengthening GCC cooperation. He also noted the strategic partnership between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, reinforced by recent announcements, agreements, and memoranda of understanding.
His Royal Highness praised Bahrain's success in hosting major exhibitions and events, which bolster the Kingdom's status as a regional and international hub. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of those involved in organizing these events.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad acknowledged the commitment of companies and institutions to providing employment opportunities, with over 3,600 citizens employed under an initiative to offer jobs to more than 9,000 job seekers registered with the Ministry of Labour.
The Speaker of the Council of Representatives and the Chairman of the Shura Council expressed gratitude for HRH Prince Salman's dedication to strengthening cooperation between the Legislative and Executive Branches to serve the interests of Bahrain and its people. The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, and HE General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior.
