Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on receiving the Prince Nayef Award for Arab Security by the Arab Interior Ministers Council, recognizing his contributions to security and peace.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet welcomed Bahrain's medical milestone in treating the world's first sickle cell disease patient outside the US using Casgevy, a CRISPR-based gene-editing therapy. The efforts of the Royal Medical Services - Bahrain Oncology Center were commended for this achievement.
The Cabinet also congratulated Saudi Arabia on its Founding Day anniversary, acknowledging the achievements under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Several memorandums were discussed, including a draft law on non-domesticated animals and amendments related to the Ministry of Finance and National Economy.
Additional memorandums included a vocational training programme between the University of Bahrain and private schools, real estate acquisition for urban development, and the government's response to proposals from the Council of Representatives. The Cabinet reviewed a report on water flow improvements through Tubli Bay.
Ministerial reports noted the Kingdom's participation in international conferences and forums, including the Paris conference on Syria, the Munich Security Conference, and the World Governments Summit 2025. The outcomes of the Saudi-Bahraini coordination meeting and the Bahrain Events Calendar for 2025 were also noted.
