HM King’s Patronage Elevates Island Classic Charity Golf Tournament

Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the 26th Island Classic Charity Golf Tournament, organized by the American Mission Hospital at the Royal Golf Club, has concluded. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa participated with the Victorious team on the third day of the tournament and with the Safriya team on the second day.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed that His Majesty the King's patronage of the tournament underscores His Majesty's interest and support for Bahraini sport, with a particular focus on golf. This highlights a steady progression towards further development and prosperity in the sport.

HH Shaikh Nasser commended the organization of the tournament, emphasizing the wide participation as a testament to the support for charitable and humanitarian initiatives that benefit society. He also praised the participants' performances and the technical level displayed throughout the event.

The tournament featured widespread participation from various teams and players, showcasing strong competition and an advanced technical level, indicative of the growing development of golf within the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In the Championship Flight, the Victorious team, comprising HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, Mike Lorenzo, Mahdi Tadaoui, and Soufiane Tadaoui, clinched first place with a total of 46.2 points. The Ministry of Interior team finished second with 48.7 points, while Mohammed Jalal team (2) secured third place with 51.3 points.

In the Premier Flight, the Safriya team, which included HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, Mohammed Mousallam, Soufiane Tadaoui, and Mahdi Tadaoui, claimed first place with a score of 47.1 points. The Jakers team followed closely in second place with 47.4 points, while the VGA team came third with 49.3 points.
