Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Sakhir Palace today First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, Bahrain Athletics Association President and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The meeting was attended by Personal Representative of HM the King His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Personal Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and SCYS Chairman His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
HH Shaikh Khalid introduced to HM the King the winners of the main competitions in the 2nd edition of Bahrain Strongest Man Championship which was held under his patronage and directives to allocate its proceeds to support cancer patients. Winners of the first place in the heavy weight competition are Salman Salim Abdullah Salim, Hussain Ali Juma’a Ali Fadhel and Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mousawi. Winners of the first place in the medium weight competition are Ahmed Mohammed Taha, Faris Mustafa Ibrahim Al Kooheji and Isa Aref Isa Rashdan. Meanwhile, the winners of the first place in the light weight are Khalid Abdah Ali Al Dhofari, Sayed Shiber Abdullah Shiber and Yusef Abdullah Al Gallaf.
HM the King congratulated HH Shaikh Khalid on success of the championship which is held for the second year running, praising his tireless efforts to develop such competitions. He also congratulated the winners on their achievements, wishing them constant success.
HM the King lauded the humanitarian initiative of HH Shaikh Khalid to allocate proceeds of the championship to support cancer patients. He also praised the outstanding results which affirm keenness of the Bahraini people to uphold the kingdom’s status and reflect their capability to compete in international gatherings.
HM the King underscored development of the sport and youth movement in Bahrain, praising the distinguished accomplishments of Bahraini youngsters thanks to the support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
