His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today ratified and issued Law 3/2021, approving the amendments to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Trademark Law, after its adoption by the Shura and Representatives councils.
According to the amended version, adopted by the 40th Summit of the GCC Supreme Council, held in Saudi Arabia on December 10, 2019, the phrase “Competent Authority” shall be defined as “the Ministry in the member state with jurisdiction over the implementation of the GCC Trademark Law.”
The term “Minister” shall be defined as “the Minister in charge of implementing the provisions of this Law”.
The Prime Minister and ministers- each in their capacity- shall the provisions of this law, which takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.
