HM King, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Congratulated on McLaren’s Formula 1 Championships Win

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The congratulations were in light of McLaren's triumph in the Formula 1 World Constructors' Championship and the victory of McLaren driver Lando Norris in the Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship at the end of the Formula 1 World Championship season. This achievement marks the first time in 27 years that McLaren has secured both titles in a single season.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also conveyed his congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who serves as the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the SCYS.

HH Shaikh Khalid emphasized that this victory is a reflection of the support Bahraini sports, especially motorsport, receive, which has elevated the Kingdom's status on the global sporting stage. His Highness lauded the outstanding and consistent performance of the team's drivers, led by the new world champion Lando Norris, along with the collective efforts of the entire McLaren team.

HH Shaikh Khalid remarked that this achievement is not merely a race victory but also a confirmation of Bahrain's vision for sports investment. It stands as a testament to the team's technical and engineering capabilities. His Highness expressed his wishes for McLaren's continued success in securing more titles, underscoring that this accomplishment bolsters Bahrain's role as a leading hub for motorsport both regionally and internationally.
