HM King Hamad Welcomes Malaysian Monarch in Bahrain

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa welcomed His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, King of Malaysia, and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival in the Kingdom of Bahrain on a state visit.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Minister of the Royal Court; along with a number of senior officials, were present to welcome the King of Malaysia.

His Majesty King Sultan Ibrahim greeted senior Bahraini officials, while His Majesty King Hamad exchanged greetings with members of the official delegation accompanying the King of Malaysia. The convoy of both monarchs then proceeded to Al Sakhir Palace, escorted by mounted police. Students from Ministry of Education schools welcomed the King of Malaysia, and a traditional Bahraini ardha was performed to celebrate the visit.

Official welcoming ceremonies for the King of Malaysia included the playing of national anthems of both countries, and a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of the visiting monarch. The Mission of Honour was headed by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King.

The Malaysian King was accompanied on his visit to Bahrain by an official delegation, including several of his sons and senior officials.
