Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, has been honored with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Sports Award for 2025 in the Arab Sports Personality category. This accolade recognizes His Highness' significant contributions and efforts in advancing sports and enhancing its developmental role both regionally and internationally.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the award was presented during a ceremony in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as part of the World Sports Summit. The summit is a major global sports gathering held under the theme "Uniting the world through sport." Attendees included sports leaders, decision-makers, experts, and athletes from various parts of the world.
The ceremony was graced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, along with other distinguished members of the UAE's royal family and international sports figures, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad received the award from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
The recognition of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad with the Arab Sports Personality Award underscores his leadership and strategic vision, which have played a crucial role in the development of sports in Bahrain. His efforts have empowered youth, fostered sports champions, and bolstered Bahrain's presence in regional and international sports arenas.
In addition to receiving the award, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad participated in the World Sports Summit as a keynote speaker. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad attributed Bahrain's sporting accomplishments to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He reiterated that investing in youth and sports remains a strategic priority that has elevated Bahrain's status on the global sports stage.
In his remarks, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad praised the UAE's efforts under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in promoting global sports.
