First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has asserted that the celebration of the Bahrain Youth Day every March 25 is in recognition of the giving and creativity of the kingdom’s youth, as well as of the prominent role they play in the country’s progress.
“The celebration of the Bahraini Youth Day reflects the distinguished status and interest enjoyed by youth in the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who believes in the importance of youth in the development and building of the country, as they are the real wealth in the present and the future,” HH said.
HH Shaikh Khalid commended the efforts exerted by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support Bahraini youth, by making them a priority in the government action plan, given their importance in sustaining the comprehensive development process.
HH Shaikh Khalid asserted that the interest of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and SCYS Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in Bahraini youth has contributed to attaining many successes for the youth sector, in light of HH’s insightful visions, programmes and initiatives, noting that HH Shaikh Nasser represents an example for Bahraini youth following his distinguished achievements.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in the landmark achievements of Bahraini athletes thanks to the efforts of the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
