Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s successful hosting of the 2025 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, and on McLaren’s victory in the race.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasised that this success builds upon the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Formula 1 in the Middle East. He noted that the event’s success reflects the Kingdom’s continued civilisational and developmental accomplishments under the reign of His Majesty the King, and the ongoing support in providing all capabilities to ensure a safe and suitable environment for hosting the global race.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad highlighted that the event was organised to the highest standards, showcasing the Kingdom of Bahrain as a leading global sporting destination, supported by the Bahrain International Circuit’s facilities, making it the home of motorsport in the Middle East.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad commended the efforts of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his role in establishing the circuit and hosting this international race, which has brought global attention to the Kingdom and delivered significant economic, tourism, promotional, and sporting benefits.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also commended the efforts of all ministries, government and civil authorities, and organisers, whose contributions were instrumental in achieving the desired success.
