HH Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Celebrates Bahraini Success at Asian Youth Games

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, was present at the weightlifting competitions of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, currently hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain until October 31.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain's national team athlete Adrian Granja achieved second place, earning a silver medal in the 79kg snatch event, which took place at Exhibition World Bahrain. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also witnessed the jiu-jitsu competitions, where national team member Pedro Bissi secured third place and a bronze medal in the 85kg category. Additional events such as e-sports and judo were also attended by His Highness at the same venue.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad praised the accomplishments of the Bahraini athletes in weightlifting and jiu-jitsu, contributing to the Kingdom's medal count, which now stands at nine, including three gold, four silver, and two bronze medals. His Highness expressed optimism regarding further successes by the national teams in the upcoming events.

His Highness underscored that the performance of Bahraini youth at the Asian Youth Games is a source of national pride, showcasing their commitment to representing the Kingdom. He emphasized that these outcomes indicate a bright future for young athletes and the rise of new champions in various sports, extending his best wishes for ongoing success to all national teams.
