Manama: His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), chaired the inaugural meeting of the organising committee responsible for the upcoming FIBA Mid-Term Congress and Hall of Fame Ceremony. The significant event is scheduled to take place in Bahrain from May 14-18. According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali conveyed the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who serves as the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of BOC, to the members of the organising committee. He extended his congratulations to the committee members on their selection and commended their expertise and experience, which are expected to play a crucial role in the success of this event. This marks the first time Bahrain will host the congress and ceremony, an endeavor made possible through coordinated efforts between government and private entities. The m eeting featured a presentation by representatives from FIBA, followed by a briefing from Pico regarding its organisational plan for the event. Discussions also took place concerning key requirements necessary for the event's success. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to ensure all preparations are completed to the highest standard, underscoring Bahrain's commitment to hosting a successful congress and ceremony.
