HEC Secretary-General receives BCCI officials

Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary-General, HEC Board of Trustees’ Deputy Chairperson, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa today received Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Education and Training Committee Chairman Professor Youssef Abdulghaffar, in the presence of committee member Dr. Bassam Al Hamad.

The two sides discussed cooperation to develop education and encourage investments in the sector of higher education, to implement of development goals led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and achieved the 2030 Bahrain Economic Vision.

The HEC Secretary-General stressed continued efforts to achieve the aspirations of the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, through supporting economic development and the diversification of sources of revenues.

She underscored the importance of consolidating cooperation with the chamber to encourage investments in the sector of higher education and develop education tourism.

Prof. Abdulghaffar stressed the committee’s plan to coordinate with higher education institutions and support their academic programmes and qualifications at the international level in order to attract students.
