Sepang:Gulf Air, the national airline of Bahrain, is the title sponsor of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026, taking place at the Sepang International Circuit. This event marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the Bahrain Grand Prix is held outside its home country.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event spans three days from October 2 to 4, featuring a Gulf Air fan zone accessible to ticket holders. This area offers an immersive experience into the race atmosphere and insights into Bahrain's tourism and cultural heritage.
On October 4, Gulf Air will perform a flypast with a Boeing 787, marking their inaugural participation in a Formula 1 race outside Bahrain. Martin Gauss, Gulf Air's CEO, highlighted the shared focus on engineering excellence, safety, and teamwork between Formula 1 and aviation, which has been a foundation of their longstanding partnership.
Gauss also noted that hosting the race in Sepang during the same week as the launch of Gulf Air's direct flights to Kuala Lumpur is a significant achievement, underscoring the strong ties between Bahrain and Malaysia.
