Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, received a copy of the ISO 9001:20 quality management system certification obtained by the General Sports Authority (GSA), presented by Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the GSA.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the certification represents a new administrative achievement for the GSA, reflecting its commitment to applying best international practices and standards in developing its institutional work system and enhancing the quality and efficiency of its administrative services and operations. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad affirmed that the GSA's attainment of the ISO quality management system certification reflects the development reached by the authority in its institutional work system and demonstrates its continued commitment to applying quality and governance standards and enhancing efficiency across its operations and services.
His Highness emphasized that developing administrative and institutional work is a key pillar in the development of the sports sector in the Kingdom, adding that the GSA's attainment of the international certification confirms the success of efforts to establish a culture of quality, develop procedures, and enhance efficiency in line with aspirations to advance the sports system. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also noted efforts are being made to ensure that the GSA serves as a model of outstanding institutional performance and that work continues in a spirit of development and continuous improvement, contributing to providing a more efficient administrative environment capable of supporting sports clubs, federations, and organizations and achieving the desired objectives of Bahraini sports.
His Highness commended the efforts of the executive body and all employees of the General Sports Authority, affirming that the achievement is the result of collective efforts and a commitment to developing performance based on clear foundations and standards. He called for continued efforts to build on this achievement and achieve further administrative and institutional successes in the next phase.
The ISO quality management system certification, issued by the accreditation body ROYALCERT, is based on a comprehensive assessment in accordance with international quality management standards covering the work system and administrative procedures. The certification covers a wide range of the authority's responsibilities, including administrative and financial supervision, oversight of sports clubs and organizations, proposing and implementing plans, projects, programs, and services, providing financial support, approving sports leave permits, and organizing sports activities and services.
