Kuwait City: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the first meeting of the Advisory Body of the Supreme Council in its 28th session. The Secretary-General highlighted that the Advisory Body has contributed over 59 studies since its establishment, addressing various topics that have directly contributed to the development of numerous joint Gulf systems and projects.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi thanked His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of Kuwait and President of the 45th Supreme Council session, for Kuwait's support in advancing joint Gulf cooperation in all domains to meet the aspirations of GCC leaders and peoples. The Secretary-General also thanked His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, and the Qatari government for their leadership during the previous session and their support for the General Secretariat and Gulf cooperation efforts.
The Secretary-General emphasised the Advisory Body's key role and the need to enhance its work by integrating efforts with ministerial committees and the General Secretariat. He noted that the General Secretariat is actively implementing approved studies, turning them into joint action plans to advance the GCC's progress and align with the Supreme Council's directives.
Albudaiwi highlighted that during the Kuwait Summit on December 1, 2024, the Supreme Council assigned the Advisory Body to study key issues, including unifying Gulf efforts in disaster response, developing AI policies and legislation, and improving service integration among GCC states. He underscored the Body's role in providing studies and recommendations to support these efforts within the framework of Gulf cooperation.
The Secretary-General thanked Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al Sada for his leadership during the 27th session of the Advisory Body and commended its members for their dedication to advancing its work. He expressed confidence that Nasser Abdullah Al Roudan's leadership in the 28th session would further strengthen the Body's role.
Albudaiwi underscored the General Secretariat's support for the Advisory Body, ensuring it has the necessary resources to carry out its duties effectively. He emphasised the importance of working as an integrated team, highlighting the GCC as a strong foundation for safeguarding achievements, ensuring security and stability, and promoting development and prosperity for its citizens, guided by the directives of GCC leaders.
