Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Massimo Aparo, Deputy Director General and Head of the Safeguards Department at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The meeting reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation between the GCC and the IAEA, especially in offering programs by the IAEA in supporting the GCC for the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
They reviewed nuclear energy programs in the region and how could the GCC benefit from the IAEA’s global network on nuclear safety and security.
