GCC Secretary General Condemns Iranian Attacks on Kuwait

Manama: Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned the continued hostile Iranian attacks targeting the State of Kuwait. He stressed that these actions represent a dangerous and irresponsible escalation, a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait and of international law and norms, and a direct threat to regional security and stability. He noted that the continuation of these attacks reflects an unacceptable Iranian approach that undermines all efforts aimed at maintaining security and stability.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Budaiwi also called on the international community and the United Nations (UN) Security Council to assume its responsibilities and take a firm and deterrent stance against these serious violations, which threaten regional and international peace and security. He stressed that the security of the State of Kuwait is an indivisible part of the security of the GCC states. He emphasised that the GCC countries stand united and steadfast alongside the State of Kuwait and fully support all measures it takes to protect its security, safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
