GCC Ambassadors Discuss Regional Security and Cooperation with EU Representative

Brussels: Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, welcomed the Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to the European Union to discuss critical regional and international issues.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Mohammed Ali Behzad, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Bahrain's Mission to the European Union. As the representative of the current GCC Presidency, Dr. Behzad led discussions on the recent Iranian attacks against Bahrain and other GCC member states. The dialogue also addressed the developments in the Strait of Hormuz, focusing on their implications for freedom of navigation and international maritime security.

The meeting further explored ways to enhance GCC-EU coordination on diplomatic and security matters to support regional stability. Both sides reviewed the progress of GCC-EU relations and upcoming joint engagements, along with a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest as part of their ongoing consultation and coordination efforts.

During the discussions, High Representative Kaja Kallas expressed the European Union's solidarity with Bahrain and the GCC member states, firmly condemning the recent Iranian attacks.
