Four Dead in Avalanche in Central Greece

Manama: Four people died in an avalanche in the Vardousia Mountains in central Greece, Greek state television reported. A local official stated that rescue teams had launched a wide search operation for hikers who had gone missing two days earlier under challenging conditions.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the search operation was initiated after the hikers were reported missing. The Vardousia Mountains, noted for their elevation, have peaks rising to 2,495 meters, making them among the highest in the country. The rescue teams faced difficult conditions in their efforts to locate the missing hikers.
