Foreign Ministry Advances Quality Management System in Coordination with Civil Service Bureau

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that continuously enhancing the efficiency and institutional performance of Bahrain's diplomatic and administrative work remains a priority for the Ministry, supporting the Kingdom's comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this initiative is part of a coordinated effort between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Civil Service Bureau to implement and update the Ministry's quality management systems in line with the requirements of the international ISO 9001:2015 standard. The initiative aims to establish an integrated framework to prepare the Ministry to meet the standard's requirements through improving institutional processes and procedures, building capabilities, and providing the necessary technical and administrative support throughout the implementation phases.

Dr. Al Zayani noted that the coordination builds on the Ministry's efforts to promote quality, excellence and governance, and enhance its operational processes in line with international standards and best practices. He commended the Civil Service Bureau's role in providing government entities with technical and administrative expertise and supporting efforts to strengthen institutional efficiency.

Shaikh Duaij bin Salman bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service Bureau, affirmed that the cooperation reflects integrated government efforts to adopt institutional systems based on clear standards and internationally recognised practices. He underscored the Bureau's commitment to providing its technical expertise and support throughout the implementation process to ensure the system's effectiveness and sustainability.

He explained that implementation will follow a comprehensive five-stage plan, beginning with promoting a culture of institutional quality, followed by documenting and improving procedures and processes, training and technical support, internal auditing, and external auditing in preparation for meeting the requirements for ISO 9001:2015 certification, alongside the necessary technical guidance and consultancy.
