Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a telephone call from Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. The call addressed the Iranian attack on the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Thai Foreign Minister expressed Thailand’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks against Bahrain using missiles and drones, and the resulting loss of lives and property. He conveyed Thailand’s solidarity with the Kingdom and its support for the measures undertaken to protect its security and stability and to safeguard the safety of its citizens and residents. He also noted the close relations of cooperation between the two countries across various domains, wishing Bahrain continued security, peace, and stability.
On his part, Dr. Al Zayani expressed his appreciation to the Thai Foreign Minister for the sentiments of solidarity expressed towards the Kingdom in light of the Iranian missile attacks against Bahrain, as well as for Thailand’s support for the measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security and stability. He also highlighted the strong relations between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister further expressed Bahrain’s solidarity with Thailand following the Iranian shelling of a Thai cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz last week, which resulted in a fire aboard the vessel, the loss of three sailors, and the evacuation of others. He wished the injured sailors a speedy recovery and extended his wishes for continued security, progress, and prosperity to Thailand and its people.
