New York:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, met with Dr. Constantinos Kombos, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the close ties between Bahrain and Cyprus and the continued growth of their bilateral cooperation across various domains. They discussed ways to further broaden this cooperation while maintaining coordination and consultation in international forums.
The foreign ministers also addressed regional developments and their implications for regional security and stability. They considered efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the flow of international trade and energy and food supplies. Additionally, they exchanged views on international issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaiei, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York; Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Chief of Coordination and Follow-up; and the accompanying delegation of the Bahraini Minister.
