Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the International Human Rights Committee, emphasized the vital role of Bahrain's national press in the country's comprehensive development. The press is instrumental in serving the nation by safeguarding its security and stability, raising public awareness, and showcasing Bahrain's achievements. This has been made possible with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani praised the 10th edition of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism, noting its significance as a distinguished recognition under the patronage of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Foreign Minister extended his congratulations to the award winners, acknowledging their exceptional journalistic contributions and professionalism. He expressed his hopes for their continued success and for further advancements in Bahrain's media sector. Additionally, he commended the national press for their professionalism and patriotic dedication in confronting unjustified Iranian attacks against Bahrain and regional countries, countering misinformation, and supporting national cohesion and security.
Dr. Al Zayani highlighted the crucial partnership between the national press and Bahraini diplomacy, particularly in conveying Bahrain's balanced positions based on respect for international law and support for global peace and security. This partnership is especially significant during Bahrain's tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2026-2027 and its current presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
He concluded by stressing the importance of ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Information, the National Communication Centre, the Bahrain Journalists Association, and media entities.
