Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a telephone conversation with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar. The dialogue focused on addressing pressing regional issues and security concerns.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion between the two ministers centered on the recent regional developments. A major point of concern was the ongoing Iranian attacks against the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The conversation also touched upon the systematic attacks targeting critical infrastructure, vital facilities, and civilians, which pose significant threats to regional stability.
The ministers also reviewed the implications of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This strategic move by Iran has raised concerns regarding the safety and freedom of maritime navigation, with potential repercussions on the global economy.
