Foreign Minister Engages in Diplomatic Talks with Palestinian Representative

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed Yasser Abbas, Special Representative of President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine, along with his accompanying delegation, during their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions centered on the strong relations between Bahrain and Palestine, highlighting the ongoing growth and development of bilateral cooperation and coordination across multiple areas. The dialogue emphasized serving the mutual interests of both nations and their citizens.

Furthermore, both parties explored ways to strengthen diplomatic collaboration and coordination on international platforms, particularly during Bahrain's non-permanent membership in the Security Council. The discussions underscored support for the rights of the Palestinian people, specifically their aspiration to establish an independent state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international legitimacy resolutions.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
