Manama: The inaugural Bahrain Cardiovascular Conference 2026, organised by Royal Medical Services (RMS) in cooperation with BDA Centre, commenced at the Radisson Blu Hotel. The conference spans two days, from September 11 to 12.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), and Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, were among the prominent attendees, including leading doctors, consultants, and cardiovascular specialists from Bahrain and abroad.
The conference aims to support the development of Bahrain's healthcare sector by promoting continuing medical education and keeping healthcare professionals informed about the latest developments in cardiovascular medicine. It also provides a platform for specialists to share expertise and discuss the challenges and clinical cases faced by healthcare professionals at various levels of care.
Major General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Commander of the RMS, emphasised the significance of the event, describing it as a specialised scientific platform that enhances communication between medical professionals and fosters the exchange of medical expertise and knowledge, thus improving clinical practice and healthcare services for patients.
Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Salman praised RMS and BDA Centre for organising the conference and acknowledged the strong participation of specialised medical professionals. He noted that such events enable healthcare professionals to stay abreast of rapid developments in cardiovascular medicine and benefit from both local and international expertise.
Highlighting the conference's scientific programme, Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Salman indicated that it focuses on practical approaches to diagnosing and treating heart disease, including clinical cases and challenges requiring precise assessment and timely medical decisions. He expressed optimism that the conference would add value to Bahrain's specialised medical events and continue to grow in future editions.
Major General Dr. Fuad Abdulqader, Chief Executive Officer and Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, welcomed participants and underscored the conference's role in strengthening scientific communication among healthcare professionals and sharing expertise in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Husam Noor, Conference Chairman, noted that the scientific programme is tailored around the challenges doctors encounter in daily practice. It includes real-life cases and discussions on issues requiring accurate diagnosis and rapid decision-making, with a focus on practical, applicable scientific content.
Dr. Nooraldaem Yousif, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, chairs the conference's scientific committee, which includes consultants and specialists from various healthcare institutions in Bahrain.
Over the two days, the programme covers key cardiovascular topics, such as ECGs, cholesterol management, cardiac tests, heart attacks, and treatment options, as well as advanced topics including atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias, and pre-operative cardiac assessment.
The conference targets all involved in cardiac care, from medical students to specialists, fostering communication and knowledge-sharing across medical disciplines. Participants will earn 12 hours of continuing medical education (CME) credits, supporting their professional development.
