Manama: The Equal Opportunities Committee at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy held its third periodic meeting of 2026, chaired by Dr. Faisal Isa Hammad, Assistant Undersecretary for Competitiveness and Economic Indicators.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Hammad emphasized the significant support and focus given to Bahraini women as part of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, along with directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This initiative has played a crucial role in advancing women and boosting their participation in national development.
Dr. Hammad also highlighted the 25th anniversary of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and the influential role of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW. He remarked that this national occasion is a chance to reflect on the achievements and contributions of the SCW in promoting Bahraini women's status and participation in the Kingdom's development.
The committee addressed various agenda items, including the outcomes of the Ministry's efforts to promote equal opportunities and preparations for Bahraini Women's Day. This celebration aims to honor women's contributions to national development.
Furthermore, the committee reviewed its future plans and proposals to improve its working mechanisms and enhance the efficiency of its outcomes. These efforts are aimed at reinforcing a work environment centered on gender balance and equal opportunities.
