Saint petersburg: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, led the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation participating in the 2026 Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, held in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa stated that Bahrain's participation in the forum underscores the Kingdom's commitment to engaging in global economic forums and developing strategic partnerships to support sustainable economic growth, cooperation, and investment opportunities.
Shaikh Salman emphasized Bahrain's ongoing efforts to position itself as a regional centre for business and investment. He highlighted the Kingdom's policies focused on economic competitiveness and investment, driven by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Bahraini delegation attended the forum's main session, where His Excellency President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation delivered the keynote address. The session was attended by heads of state, government officials, and business leaders.
Shaikh Salman noted that the forum offers a platform for exchanging perspectives on global economic developments and addressing challenges and opportunities in international markets amid rapid economic changes. This contributes to enhanced cooperation among governments, the private sector, and international financial institutions.
The Bahraini delegation included Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation; and Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company.
The Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum is an annual event that gathers heads of state, ministers, and business leaders worldwide to discuss global economic issues, investment, and international trade.
