Fikra Unveils E-Voting for Government Innovation Competition

Manama: Electronic voting for the seventh edition of the Government Innovation Competition (Fikra) has been launched through the Prime Minister's Office website at www.pmo.gov.bh to determine the winner of the "Public Vote" category. Voting will remain open until Sunday, 11 January. This follows the qualification of 12 concepts, which were selected after a rigorous evaluation of the initial 40 concepts by four specialised committees.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the outcome of the vote will be announced alongside the results from the Ministers' evaluation committee, which will determine the winning concepts in the other competition categories. The 12 finalists have been announced, representing various governmental and public sectors, showcasing innovations that aim to enhance public service delivery and efficiency.

The finalists include Tawazun by Maha Bader Abdulla Bader Alsada, Ahmed Hasan Abdulrahman Bucheeri from the Social Insurance Organization, and Nayla Musaad Matar from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Another finalist, Takamul, is presented by Captain Abdulla Waheed Almannaei and Alaa Ahmed Albalooshi from the Ministry of Interior.

Tameni, developed by a team from Government Hospitals, and Secondary Education Curriculum Enhancement by Abdulla Mohamed Abdulla Badow from the Ministry of Education, are also in the running. The Supreme Council for the Environment's project, Floating Oases by Bassam Mohammed Alshuwaikh, is among the contenders.

Additional finalists include Wasalt by Manal Ali Alhashemi from the National Communication Centre and the Savings and Investment Program by a team from the Ministry of Finance and National Economy. Ata'a - The National Giving Platform, developed by Ahmed Saleh Mejairan from the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), is also competing for the public vote.

Other noteworthy projects are the Annual Leaves Exchange Platform by a team from the Information and e-Government Authority (iGA), Smart Employment Advisor by Jalal Jaafar Maki from the Ministry of Legal Affairs, Rahma by Salamah Hashel Zayed Alkobaisi from the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, and MindForward by Walaa A.Hadi Ahmed Albaqali from Government Hospitals.

The public is encouraged to participate in the voting process and support the innovative projects that aim to bring positive changes within the government framework.
