Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Unveils Five Ultra-Fast EV Charging Stations

Manama: Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, inaugurated five ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations, marking a key step in the Kingdom of Bahrain's transition to clean and sustainable transport.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the newly inaugurated stations are strategically located in Diyar Al Muharraq, the Avenues, Adliya, Liwan, and Durrat Al Bahrain. These stations boast the capability to charge vehicles up to 80% in under 15 minutes, making them among the fastest in the region.

Humaidan highlighted that this initiative is aligned with the Kingdom's carbon neutrality goals and promotes the use of renewable energy sources, including solar power. To encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, the charging service will be free for the first six months.

In addition to the charging stations, the ministry has launched a mobile app designed to assist users in locating charging stations, tracking their availability in real-time, and facilitating digital payments. This move is part of a broader effort to modernize services and advance sustainable mobility.
