Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa has received Justice Advisor at Northern Ireland Cooperation Overseas (NICO) Paula Jack.
He welcomed the guest and highlighted the directorate’s role in expanding the implementation of the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law and the commencement of the open prison programme to promote human rights per the royal directives.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in implementing the law and the rehabilitation and training programmes for the beneficiaries to integrate them into society.
Both sides reviewed topics of common interest to reinforce human rights and benefit from British alternative penalties expertise. The UK officials expressed appreciation for the directorate’s role in promoting the law, including increasing the number of the law’s beneficiaries.
