Deputy Prime Minister Commends Royal Order Designating 2026 as “Year of Isa Al Kabeer”

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, welcomed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Royal Order designating 2026 as the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer", describing it as a fitting national tribute to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, founder of the modern Bahraini state.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah noted that the initiative honors a historic leader remembered for wisdom, justice, and political foresight, whose leadership strengthened stability, unified society, and laid the foundations of Bahrain's legal and civil institutions, enabling early and far-reaching development.

He emphasized that Bahrain's ongoing progress under the leadership of His Majesty the King, with the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, builds directly on these enduring foundations. He added that the government continues to draw on this legacy to enhance public-sector performance and advance national development.

The Deputy Prime Minister also commended efforts to accelerate infrastructure and urban development works surrounding Isa the Great Palace in Muharraq, ahead of its opening as a key historic and official landmark.

He concluded that the Royal directive reflects national loyalty to Bahrain's founding leaders and reinforces the collective commitment to continued progress and prosperity.
