Manama: His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, celebrating Bahrain's successful hosting of the 2025 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix and McLaren's victory at the Bahrain International Circuit.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet highlighted the organisation of the 21st edition of the event, underscoring the Kingdom's reputation as a host of premier international sporting events. The Cabinet praised the efforts of the national workforce from the Ministry of Interior, the BIC, and several government authorities in ensuring the success of the event. Gratitude was also expressed to motorsport fans for their enthusiastic support.
The Cabinet also commended His Royal Highness's attendance at the 'Concordia' Unveiling Event, featuring a stained-glass artwork by Sir Brian Clarke, at Bahrain International Airport. This initiative aligns with the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing the airport's competitiveness and integrating art and culture into public spaces. The Cabinet welcomed international awards received by Bahrain International Airport, including the 'World's Best Airport Serving 5 - 10 Million Passengers' accolade.
Furthermore, the Cabinet acknowledged Bahrain's election as a member of the Arab Charter for Human Rights Committee, reflecting the trust of the League of Arab States members in the Kingdom's commitment to human rights.
During the meeting, the Cabinet approved several memorandums, including those related to restructuring government agencies, contributions to international organisations, amending advertising regulations, cultural and artistic institution oversight, navigation permits for visiting ships, real estate acquisition for urban development, and government responses to proposals from the Council of Representatives.
The Cabinet also reviewed significant outcomes from various diplomatic and official visits and forums, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs's visit to the USA, participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the visit programme for Gulf Cooperation Council Ministers of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, the official visit of the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs to Italy, and the 14th AIM Congress.
