Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects Meeting

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects, attended by ministers who are members of the committee and senior officials, at the Manama Municipality headquarters. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the accelerated pace of infrastructure project implementation across the Kingdom, highlighting the continued focus on developing services and enhancing their efficiency and sustainability, in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah acknowledged the achievements made in infrastructure projects during the current and previous years and their tangible positive impact. He emphasized the importance of teamwork under the Team Bahrain approach among relevant entities, with integration ensuring sound planning and efficient implementation in line with approved timelines and technical standards.

The committee congratulated His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the occasion of the New Year, expressing hopes for a prosperous year for the Kingdom and its people, and anticipated further development achievements across various sectors. The committee also expressed gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for inaugurating the renovated Manama Municipality building, aligning with Royal directives to preserve Bahrain's historical and cultural identity.

Furthermore, the committee commended the foundation laying of the Al Dur Solar Power Plant project by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), aligning with national directions to bolster energy security and support clean energy transition, reinforcing sustainability goals and enhancing electricity system efficiency and reliability.

The committee acknowledged the Ministry of Works for completing the bridge project linking the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Bridge with Road 105 in the Busaiteen area, noting its economic and traffic benefits. The bridge's completion in record time was highlighted for its resource management efficiency, improving traffic flow between the Muharraq and Capital governorates with a capacity of up to 4,000 vehicles per hour.

Additionally, the committee celebrated Bahrain International Airport receiving a five-star rating from Skytrax for the fifth year in a row, congratulating the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) on maintaining high-performance standards and providing excellent services to travelers.

The committee also noted the progress in the partnership between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the private sector in implementing housing projects across the Kingdom's governorates, offering multiple housing options to meet citizens' needs.

The meeting reviewed key achievements realized during 2025 across sectors such as electricity and water, surveying and real estate registration, municipalities and agriculture, transportation and telecommunications, environment, works, and housing and urban planning, in line with the priorities of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah expressed gratitude to the ministers and work teams for their dedicated efforts and constructive cooperation in project implementation and directed the intensification of efforts to continue infrastructure project delivery, enhancing performance levels under the Government Programme for 2023-2026. The committee also reviewed regulatory procedures related to the National Committee for Geospatial Information Governance (NCGIG).
