Customs Integration and Data Exchange Highlighted at GCC Forum

Manama:Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Customs, emphasized the significance of customs integration and data exchange in bolstering supply chains during the "Made in GCC 2026" Forum at Exhibition World Bahrain. The event saw participation from officials and executives in the industrial and logistics sectors across the GCC.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Ahmed highlighted the crucial role of these strategies in reducing the time and costs of moving raw materials and industrial products through GCC borders, thus improving supply chain efficiency. He also pointed out that enhancing digital transparency and adopting advanced customs clearance mechanisms can streamline procedures and support economic integration among GCC nations.

The session included discussions on linking cities, industrial zones, and ports with specialized logistics corridors to strengthen industrial integration within the GCC. Participants reviewed key solutions and initiatives to overcome customs and logistics challenges, facilitating trade between GCC countries.
