Manama:Gudaibiya Palace: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, conducted a meeting with several officials to evaluate the progress of the Muharraq City Development Plan and the redevelopment of the historical Manama Souq area.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness emphasized the dedication to implementing the Royal Order of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa focused on preserving the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain's cities. This includes a comprehensive plan to restore Isa Al Kabeer Palace and the neighborhoods of Muharraq, alongside redeveloping the Manama Souq area to maintain its unique history and cultural significance.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the historical and cultural importance of Muharraq and Manama, noting their heritage landmarks associated with significant moments in Bahraini history. He stressed the importance of developing these cities while preserving their heritage, strengthening their role as symbols of Bahrain's historical identity.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness reviewed the latest developments in the plans for Muharraq and Manama, emphasizing the need for continuous efforts to meet development goals. He also highlighted the critical role of coordination among various entities to accelerate project implementation.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad underlined the importance of balancing development with the preservation of cultural and heritage landmarks, ensuring that the historical identity of these areas is maintained alongside meeting development requirements.
His Royal Highness stressed that Bahrain's historical and cultural heritage is a vital component of the Kingdom's national identity, advocating for its preservation and promotion for future generations to reflect the Kingdom's historical identity.
The meeting was attended by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and several senior officials.
