Accra:His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attended a reception associated with the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event, marking its 22nd edition, is hosted in Malaysia with the endorsement of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.
Prince Salman highlighted Bahrain's leading role in the motorsport sector, emphasizing the country's commitment to advancing various sporting sectors and enhancing its presence at international events. He noted that Bahrain's expertise significantly contributes to its standing on the global sporting stage.
The Crown Prince and Prime Minister remarked that holding the 2026 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Malaysia affirms Bahrain's experience and success in motorsport, showcasing its capabilities in hosting major sporting events. This move also underscores the strong bilateral relations between Bahrain and Malaysia, supported by mutual aspirations for cooperation.
The reception was attended by distinguished guests, including team principals, drivers, and organizers, with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also present.
