Manama: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, welcomed the Royal Order designating 2026 as the Year of Isa Al Kabeer in honour of Bahrain’s founder of the modern state and key figure in its institutional development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative commemorates His Highness Isa Al Kabeer’s national legacy and recalls his pioneering role in consolidating stability, building state institutions, establishing administrative foundations, and advancing modern development.
The Secretary General emphasised that the royal initiative reflects His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision of strengthening national awareness of Bahrain’s history, safeguarding the country’s civilisational identity, and highlighting the leadership role of Isa Al Kabeer during a pivotal period that moved the country towards broader horizons of development, growth, and the state of law and institutions.
Al Buainain noted that the comprehensive development achievements witnessed by the Kingdom today, under the leadership of His Majesty the King and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, are built on the solid foundations established by Isa Al Kabeer.
He said that the Year of Isa Al Kabeer commemorates a national leader who contributed to building the modern state at a decisive stage, and represents an opportunity to reinforce values rooted in national constants and authentic Bahraini identity.
The Secretary General added that the year serves as a vital national platform to highlight work and national achievement inspired by the efforts of Bahrain’s rulers in construction, dedication, and excellence, in support of the nation’s progress and the aspirations of its people.
