Council of Representatives Unveils AI-Driven Projects to Boost Legislative Efficiency.

Manama: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, announced, following directives from Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, the launch of an integrated plan to apply AI technologies across various parliamentary and administrative domains. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance performance and achieve full digital transformation, in line with Bahrain’s vision to promote digital innovation and improve services.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Secretary General stated that efforts to advance digital transformation and leverage AI tools are progressing rapidly to support parliamentary work. These initiatives align with the comprehensive development process under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and aim to assist members of parliament in fulfilling their legislative and oversight roles.

Al Buainain explained that these efforts form part of a long-term strategy to enhance Bahrain’s
parliamentary leadership locally, regionally, and internationally. The rollout of smart projects is expected within the next two months, aiming to advance the council’s use of technology to support legislative and administrative work.

The projects include the development of a modern parliamentary portal using AI to process and analyze parliamentary data efficiently, enabling quick and accurate access to documents and information.

The key initiatives include a smart parliamentary information platform, a parliamentary advisory platform, and an interactive parliamentary data platform. These tools aim to address the needs of parliamentary and administrative work by enhancing data analysis, information accessibility, and the provision of AI-driven advisory services. This will contribute to drafting more effective legislation and advanced data analysis.

The Secretary General highlighted that these platforms will support legislative processes by providing comprehensive analyses of proposed laws and precise compar
isons with existing legislation, ensuring high quality and comprehensive modern legal frameworks.

Al Buainain added that the platforms aim to streamline and enhance administrative processes, improving internal efficiency and saving time and effort for council staff. They will also enable MPs to make informed decisions based on accurate data and in-depth analyses.

These initiatives reflect the Secretariat General’s commitment to supporting the legislative and oversight roles of parliament and underscore the council’s dedication to employing advanced technologies to achieve a more effective parliamentary process.
