Council of Representatives Secretary-General Engages in Strategic Talks with Azerbaijani Counterpart

Baku: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, met with Farid Hajiyev, Chief of Staff (Secretary-General) of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan), during the 20th Conference of the Union of the Councils of the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baku.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting underscored the robust relations between Bahrain and Azerbaijan. The discussions aimed at bolstering parliamentary cooperation through enhanced coordination between the two general secretariats. This includes plans for exchanges of expertise, reciprocal visits, and joint initiatives designed to improve institutional performance.

Hajiyev expressed admiration for the Council of Representatives' General Secretariat's achievements, particularly its initiatives in sustainability and the Green Parliament project. The Secretariat's efforts have been recognized with the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification, marking it as the first parliament in the region to achieve this standard. Additionally, Hajiyev acknowledged its pioneering role in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, noting its recognition with the ISO 42001:2023 Artificial Intelligence Management System certification.

Furthermore, Hajiyev congratulated Al Buainain on his unanimous election as Vice-President of the Association of Secretaries General of the Union of the Councils of the OIC Member States, highlighting his considerable experience and expertise in the field.
