Council of Representatives Sec Gen Highlights Parliamentary Award for Bahraini Identity Care

Manama: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, emphasised that the Council of Representatives Award for National Identity represents a high-level national response to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to consolidate national identity and safeguard the Kingdom's civilisational heritage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Buainain noted that the award is aligned with the efforts of the esteemed government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthen social cohesion and national awareness.

Al Buainain explained that the award, which is directly followed up and supported by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, is based on the belief that national identity is not only a historical legacy, but a key driver of sustainable development and a pillar of the Kingdom's comprehensive progress. He added that the award aims to link the authenticity of the past with the aspirations of the future.

He also noted that the award's executive committee continues to receive nominations, inviting institutions, associations, individuals with intellectual and artistic contributions, and creative Bahraini youth to participate in projects that reflect the authenticity and values of Bahraini society.

Al Buainain said that the award includes three main categories: institutions, individuals, and youth initiatives. A financial prize of BD1,500 has been allocated to each category, in addition to commemorative shields and participation certificates for all nominees, in recognition of their national efforts.

He urged those wishing to participate to submit their applications promptly through the official electronic platform of the Council of Representatives website, noting that the executive committee continues to receive and review applications in accordance with the highest standards of quality and transparency until the second week of January 2026. He underlined the importance of meeting the required technical criteria, which focus on national impact, creativity, and sustainability.

Al Buainain highlighted that, through this initiative, the Council of Representatives aims to enable citizens and institutions to play an active role in protecting Bahraini identity, ensuring its continuity for future generations.
