Council of Representatives and Thai House of Representatives Strengthen Legislative Ties

Manama: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, met with Steejit Taipibooksuk, Deputy Secretary General of the House of Representatives Kingdom of Thailand, on the sidelines of the 16th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 24-28.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Buainain emphasized the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and Thailand as a solid foundation for ongoing legislative cooperation. He highlighted that this cooperation aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, aiming to strengthen ties and enhance coordination between the two nations. This effort supports institutional development, legislative expertise sharing, and promotes joint development, reflecting Bahrain's strategic approach to fostering regional and international partnerships.

Al Buainain also reiterated the commitment of the Bahrain parliamentary division, under the leadership of Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, to expand cooperation with Arab and international parliamentary bodies. The Kingdom is focused on enhancing strategic partnerships to improve legislative performance, share expertise and skills, support the role of parliaments in dialogue and mutual understanding, and contribute to regional stability and sustainable development.

Al Buainain further noted that such meetings demonstrate Bahrain's ongoing commitment to joint parliamentary work. Active partnerships with regional and international parliaments are seen as crucial for exchanging expertise, building parliamentary capacity, and developing innovative solutions to legislative and development challenges.

On her part, Taipibooksuk praised Bahrain's significant role in supporting regional and international parliamentary efforts and welcomed the active participation of the Bahrain parliamentary delegation in the APA. She emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts to develop future cooperation programs and share expertise to enhance the effectiveness of joint parliamentary work.
