Manama: The Ministry of Works has announced that resurfacing works on the Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Causeway will require staged lane closures for westbound traffic heading towards Manama. These closures are necessary to facilitate the maintenance work and ensure a smooth traffic flow during the resurfacing period.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the closure will involve the fast and middle lanes, with only one lane available for traffic movement during weekends, from Friday at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday at 5:00 a.m. Additionally, the slow lane will be closed, and two lanes will be provided for traffic movement from Sunday at 5:00 a.m. to Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. These closures are set to begin on Friday, October 7, 2026, and will last for a period of two weeks.
The Ministry has urged all road users to adhere to traffic rules to ensure the safety of everyone during this period. The staged lane closures are designed to minimize disruption while allowing the necessary resurfacing work to be completed efficiently.
