Boeing, Safran Morpho to participate in BIAS

Manama, Jun 19 (BNA) — Boeing and Safran Morpho signed agreements, at the Paris Airshow, to take chalets at the third edition of Bahrain International Airshow taking place at the Sakhir Airbase in the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 16 to 18, 2014. The commitments of both the organisations add further weight to the Kingdom’s growing strength as a strategic location in the Middle East for business and trade.
The new signings bring the event to over 75 per cent sold. With the recent announcement regarding the expansion plans for Bahrain’s International Airport, BIAS looks set to be a prosperous show offering many new business opportunities. With the remaining chalets either reserved or under negotiation, airshow organisers, Ministry of Transportation, Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority and Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) are urging those interested in attending the show to get in contact at the earliest opportunity.
Bahrain’s Minister for Transportation and member of the Supreme Organising Committee of BIAS, Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed, said, “Bahrain’s strategic location at the heart of the gulf makes it a hub for air travel across the Middle East and gateway to the world. (BCCI) participates in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

Manama, June 18th (BNA) –Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) participates in the annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is held under the title “Global Economic Prospects: The time for a decisive action” during the period from June 20 to 22, 2013 under the patronage of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the participation of more than 5,400 economic figures, 89 countries and 77 Heads of State.
The Forum discusses issues related to the political challenges, the economic and social impacts of crises, reviving global economy, change of powers on the international arena and the new technical potentials.

(BCCI) delegation includes the member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the exhibitions, Promotion and Conferences Committee, Kadhim Isa Al-Saeed, President of the Bahraini-Russian Business Council, Chairman of the industrial sector, Abdul-Hamid Abdul-Jabbar Al-Koohaji, and a number of members of the Bahraini side in the joint business council with Russia.

The Forum will also discuss motivation to investment in order to speed up the process of global economic growth, and the participants will also discuss ways to mitigate the effects of the global financial crisis, and mechanisms to stimulate international trade, global investment and economic diversification.

During its sessions, the forum will discuss very persistent issues like the increase in energy consumption, the speedy population growth, the urban expansion, raising the share of the middle class and development it in the world, changing the patterns of consumption, and the structural changes in energy resources’ offers in the global market.

During the recent years, the Forum has become one of the most prominent international activities, and a place to discuss the growing role of the developing countries in the economy and international policy. During the forum’s years of activity, hundreds of conventions have been held, and transactions were carried out with billions of Dollars, and more than thousand projects were presented.

Meanwhile, Kadhim Al-Saeed highlighted that the Chamber’s delegation participating in the forum will invest their presence in Russia, and will hold a meeting for the joint Bahraini-Russian Business Council that will discuss various issues, including strengthening commercial and investment cooperation between the Bahraini and Russian sides.

Kadhim Al-Saeed said that during the meeting, they will present the project of the Arab-Russian Bank, to be established in Kingdom of Bahrain, increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, in addition to following up the results of the past meetings of the Council, particularly issues related to cooperation between both sides in establishing a number of productive projects.

The productive project will be like: light industries, petroleum industries, manufacturing and cooperation in the field of construction and real estate, the organization of Arab Bahraini-Russian conferences in Kingdom of Bahrain in the areas of (investment, industry, travel and tourism, technology, and communications, energy and oil), and coordination for the exchange of trade and tourism between the two countries.
