Cabinet Affairs Minister receives UN delegation

Manama, Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa received today a delegation, led by Saras Jagwanth, from the Sustainable Development Directorate at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Register Dr. Nabil Mohammed bin Shams and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Resident Coordinator of the UN activities in Bahrain Amin Al-Sharqawi also attended the meeting.

The meeting was held as part of the delegation’s visit to Bahrain for coordination regarding preparation of the kingdom’s first Voluntary National Review (VNR) on progress towards achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) 2030. The report will be submitted in July to a high-profile political forum on sustainable development of the UN Economic and Social Council.

The Cabinet Affairs Minister stressed Bahrain’s keenness to boost cooperation with the UN organisations and specialised agencies as part of strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UN for the years 2018-2022.
