Manama: Sarah Ahmed Buhejji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), announced the launch of "Ramadhan Al Khayr in Bahrain". The program offers a unique Ramadan experience reflecting Bahrain's rich heritage in collaboration with public and private sector partners.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this year will mark the second edition of "Manama Nights," featuring nine participating shops. The event will include the "Taybeen Games" zone and a screen simulating the moon's phases throughout the holy month, alongside a range of performances and activities aligned with special Ramadhan nights. These include the traditional Gergaoun celebration in an authentic cultural setting, the presence of Al Fareesa, and the "Al Widaa" event, which symbolises the farewell to the holy month.
The events will commence on March 1 and continue until March 30. The "Manama Souq" activities will also begin on March 1, featuring 12 shops and restaurants. The area will be illuminated with special Ramadan-themed decorations and host daily performances by Al Musaher, adding a lively social atmosphere. The events will run until March 29, welcoming visitors daily from 7 pm to midnight and extending to 1 am on weekends.
The events calendar will also feature activities organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) within the "Pearling Path" in Muharraq, as well as those hosted by the Ministry of Information at the "Heritage Village," offering an immersive cultural experience reflecting Bahrain's authentic Ramadan traditions.
The events highlight Bahrain's cultural and popular heritage, and a large-scale promotional campaign will be launched with a unified creative identity that embodies the Kingdom's unique Ramadan atmosphere. The activities aim to attract visitors from both within Bahrain and across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
BTEA has introduced an integrated promotional programme offering discounted airfares for visitors from the GCC alongside exclusive packages covering accommodation, entertainment, and transportation. Coordination has also been made with 4-star and 5-star hotels to provide special Iftar and Ghabga offers while engaging in joint promotional campaigns via social media and the national portal, bahrain.bh.
Shopping malls will offer special discounts and entertainment events during Ramadan nights, in addition to Eid celebrations in restaurants and hotels. Comprehensive tourism packages have been designed to meet visitors' needs during the Eid holiday, covering accommodation, entertainment, and transport. These packages will be widely promoted to maximise their reach among tourists, aligning with Bahrain's Tourism Strategy 2022-2026.
