BETA CEO: Jewellery Arabia 2024 Marks 30% Boost in Bahrain Jewellers’ Participation.

Manama: Bahrain’s distinguished jewellery craftsmanship and renowned pearl industry took centre stage at Jewellery Arabia 2024, showcasing their vital role in promoting tourism and supporting local businesses. Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of Exhibition World Bahrain, emphasised the strategic importance of such events during a media tour.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain’s unique jewellery craftsmanship and global reputation as the home of natural pearls continue to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a pivotal destination for business tourism. Jewellery Arabia, alongside Scent Arabia, plays a significant role in strengthening Bahrain’s jewellery sector and reinforcing the Kingdom’s reputation as a leading tourist destination.

The previous edition of Jewellery Arabia achieved $69 million in sales, featuring 650 exhibitors from 30 countries. This year, the event has seen a 30% increase in participation from Bahrain’s jewellers, reflecting
growth in the sector and the event’s regional influence.

Buhiji emphasised the commitment to positioning Bahrain as a regional tourism hub, with a particular focus on the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) sector. She stressed the importance of collaboration with Informa Markets to enhance Bahrain’s role as a leading MICE destination. With seven halls hosting Jewellery Arabia and Scent Arabia 2024, the event still offers 30% additional capacity for future mega-events.

Jewellery Arabia is recognised as the world’s largest B2C exhibition for luxury jewellery and watches. Held annually in Bahrain, it features designs from over 650 exhibitors across 30 countries, ranging from iconic global brands to emerging designers. The event offers a unique opportunity for buyers to discover exclusive pieces.

Since its launch in 1992, Jewellery Arabia has grown into one of the most influential jewellery marketplaces in the Middle East, attracting more than 40,000 visitors annually and showcasing over
650 global brands.
