Manama: Tom Sikora, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), participated in the second edition of the "Hawar Circle," hosted by the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Sikora joins a gathering of arbitration practitioners from jurisdictions including the United Kingdom, Republic of Singapore, French Republic, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Republic of India, and Hong Kong, continuing discussions from the inaugural event.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Sikora's participation highlights BCDR's engagement with international efforts to review and refine arbitration principles, inspired by the Centenary Principles of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in London. The focus of this year's edition is on Immunity, Ethics, and the Right of Representation in international arbitration.
Over three days, participants will address practical challenges in international arbitration, share professional experiences, and collaborate to develop principles for effective dispute resolution. These discussions will contribute to the development of the "Hawar Principles," which are currently undergoing a global review before their final adoption.
