Geneva:Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, attended the graduation ceremony for the first and second cohorts of the Joint Program Postgraduate Diploma on Peaceful Coexistence at the UN Office in Geneva.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the program was organized by the United Nations University for Peace and GIOYA Higher Education Institution, in partnership with the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance. Muneera Nawfal Al Doseri, the Centre's Executive Director, was also in attendance.
In his remarks, Ambassador Abdullah congratulated the graduates and praised the organizers and partners for their efforts in promoting education, dialogue, and international cooperation. He emphasized the increasing importance of coexistence and tolerance in the face of global conflicts and crises, calling for a new generation committed to dialogue, understanding, and peace.
He reaffirmed Bahrain's dedication to peace, dialogue, and international cooperation, guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the direction of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also highlighted Bahrain's enduring partnership with the United Nations and its adherence to international law and collective efforts to tackle global challenges.
Ambassador Abdullah noted Bahrain's upcoming 2026-2027 membership in the UN Security Council as an opportunity to advance these principles through significant international action. He mentioned Bahrain's initiatives with its partners, including Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), introduced by Bahrain on behalf of the GCC states and Jordan, and its activities through the UN Human Rights Council.
He also underscored the King Hamad Global Centre's contributions to promoting coexistence, tolerance, mutual respect, and interfaith and intercultural dialogue through its international programs and partnerships.
Ambassador Abdullah reiterated Bahrain's commitment to collaborating with the UN and international partners to advance peace, stability, and prosperity, and extended his congratulations to the graduates on their accomplishments.
